Have you ever considered joining a credit union instead of a bank?
Credit unions are non-profit organizations and hence all incomes are returned to the members through higher dividends on accounts and loans are provided on lower rates, etc. These unions are member-owned and the board members are volunteers that are elected by the membership. Only specific communities or groups can join credit unions. One such organization is the Estacado Credit Union, which can only be joined by the people living or going to school in Lovington or in Lea County as a whole.
Member benefits are high when you are part of a credit union because the organization answers to members instead of shareholders.
