Evelyn Holguin has served as the Executive Director of the Lovington Economic Development Corporation (EDC) for the past 18 years, playing a key role in advancing economic growth and opportunity within the community she proudly calls home.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and has continued to strengthen her leadership and professional expertise through several distinguished programs, including completing an Economic Development Course in 2011, graduating from Leadership New Mexico in 2013, and earning recognition as a 2022 graduate of the University of Georgia’s Maddox Leadership Institute.
Evelyn was also appointed by the Governor to serve on the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Board, representing Region 6 for six years, where she contributed to initiatives that support community development and infrastructure across the region.
A lifelong resident of Lovington, Evelyn is deeply rooted in her community. She has been married for 27 years to her high school sweetheart, and together they have two children: Omar Jr., 27, an electrician, and Jocelynn Jordan, 19, a student at the University of the Southwest.
