James Williams is the City Manager for the City of Lovington. James has worked for the City for over 25 years and has been serving the public as manager since July of 2012. Prior to transitioning to City Manager, James worked at the Fire Department. He has a reputation as a strong, progressive leader that has fostered a culture of professional growth, employee safety and wellness, as well as developing and implementing plans to improve the community. James leads a staff of 138 full-time employees that provide a full complement of municipal services.
As an ex-officio member of the board of the LEDC, Williams works closely with the Executive Director to promote the City, identify new economic development opportunities, and implement new ideas to engage the residents of our community.
Williams and his wife Michelle live in Lovington and have two children. They are both dedicated to the community and are proud to call it home.
